This match was dedicated to praise the fallen officers that have given the ultimate sacrifice. These officers have served to keep us safe. IALEFI® is proud to honor their memory by dedicating the 2011 ATC memorial match to these fallen heroes. This year’s match was very successful. The 52 shooters completed the match in 2.5 hours. The match objectives were met. This competition emphasized speed, movement, accuracy, cover, and good tactics. The shooters started behind a window, and on the start signal, engaged a single 10 inch round plate. They then engaged the steel target from both sides of the outside barricades that were at 10 yards. There was a mandatory reload and repeat of this same course. We used the Lewis system to divide the three age groups. The three groups were: [A] 43 years old & under [B] 44 -50 years old [C] 51 years old & over The Match winner was Bill Campbell from Gilbert PD. First place was awarded a Glock handgun of his choice for his High Overall performance. Since Bill was on the match committee, he conceded and passed this award to the second highest overall shooter: Brian Marshall, Marietta PD, GA. We presented a special barricade killing award to Lt. Rich Burdick, PBCSO. We were also glad to see an old cowboy dust off his bullet launcher and come out to play with the new generation: Dennis Tueller placed third in C class.
